"Sections" (sub-lists) in Smart Lists

I think it would be awesome to be able to create a Smart List that consists of several sub-lists, each with their independent filters.

In particular, it would be very useful for things like a weekly review (e.g. a section for inbox to review, a section for high priority items that need scheduling, a section for things tagged #this-month etc. - details depend on what works for your workflow).

This can be worked around by simply creating multiple lists, of course, but it can lead to cluttering the sidebar needlessly - when the lists are closely connected, I think it would be great to be able to group them this way.

It could look similar to how grouping works in a Smart List, i.e. headings for the groupings, with the heading ideally being larger than the grouping heading - because each of the sections could have groupings of their own. Perhaps it could be made clearer with a thicker dividing line - I’m sure the team can figure out the details better than I do!

Note that there is something of an edge case: some tasks might show up in multiple sections (if they satisfy multiple sections’ conditions). I think this is perfectly fine, but:

  • perhaps it would be worth considering to have some kind of a highlight for repeated tasks - it may be useful to spot those at a glance sometimes, and potentially also a switch to only display it in the first section that fits,

  • I can’t think of a (currently existing) view in Griply that would be showing the same task more than once and thus I’m not sure if this introduces any headaches on the engineering side.
