The time line is a great feature, but currently it lacks accuracy. Ideally I would like to have three additional features.
The first is a more detailed structure: vertical grid lines that mark days, weeks, or months, depending on the selected view.
The second is content: the ability to mark productive time (as vertical strokes) and take it into account when the duration of a goal is calculated and displayed. Productive time is based on a weekly schedule, which can be regular or irregular (if you work in shifts of multiple days on and off), and events such as holidays, journeys and other events that cut productive time. These features would make global planning much more accurate and realistic.
The third is a customizable template. Because productive time can vary for different goals, a general template together with goal specific customization options would be best. For example, the general template contains holidays and other events that are always displayed. But whether or not a holiday is available for certain goals depends on the nature of the goals. Probably work related goals are excluded from holidays, but goals related to health, family or personal development are not. Some goals may even be specific for holidays or weekends.
Together these features would make accurate planning much easier, especially if the available time is made visible in the day/week/month planning where tasks and habits live.
