Feature Request: Compact Task Popover in Calendar View
Currently, clicking a task in Griply immediately opens a large task details window, which takes up considerable screen space and interrupts the calendar experience.
I suggest implementing a compact, contextual task popover, similar to how Apple Calendar and TickTick display task/event details (see attached screenshots).
Proposed behavior
Compact popover by default: Clicking a task in the calendar opens a small, neatly designed floating window next to the selected task, rather than the full-sized editor.
Contextual positioning: The popover should appear near the clicked task, intelligently adjusting its position to stay within the screen boundaries.
Quick viewing and editing: Display essential information such as the task title, date/time, duration, completion status, priority, and description. Allow users to edit common properties directly within the popover.
Expandable details: Provide an option to expand the popover into the existing full-sized task editor when more advanced editing is needed.
Easy dismissal: Clicking outside the popover or pressing Escape should close it.
Smooth interactions: Use subtle opening/closing animations and maintain the calendar's visibility in the background.
Expected result
The goal is to make interacting with tasks feel faster, cleaner, and less disruptive. Users should be able to quickly inspect or modify tasks without repeatedly opening a large modal.
Ideally, the compact popover would become the default interaction in calendar view, while the existing full-sized task window remains available for detailed editing.
This would bring Griply's calendar UX closer to the polished, lightweight interactions found in Apple Calendar and TickTick.
