A More Visual Vision Experience
Background
Life areas play a central role in Griply. However, on the dashboard, each life area or vision is currently represented by only a small image, while the overall layout remains largely text-based. As a result, the emotional and inspirational value of a vision is not fully conveyed.
A vision is more than a collection of written statements. It should create an emotional connection, provide orientation, and serve as a motivating reminder in everyday life. The current presentation does not yet make full use of the visual potential of this content and limits the creative side of the vision creation process.
User Need
As a user, I want to develop and experience my visions in a more visual and inspiring way, so that i can be inspired by pictures when developing them, engaging both brain hemispheres and so that they feel more personal, memorable, and motivating in everyday life.At the same time, the experience should remain focused and calm. Combining too many images and text elements at once could make the vision feel cluttered or overwhelming. I want to be able to switch between the current version and a more visually appealing one that ideally transcends the app and I can take with me on my home screen, as a screensaver etc.
Problem Statement
Users currently have limited ways to engage with their visions visually. Small preview images are easily overlooked, and the text-heavy dashboard can make a vision feel more like a content entry than an inspiring personal statement.
How might we make visions more emotionally engaging and visually appealing while keeping the experience focused, simple, and easy to use?
Potential Solution Directions
Option 1: Animated Vision Showcase
Create a dynamic showcase / screensaver option that combines one sentence from a vision with one related image at a time.
Possible features:
One vision statement paired with one image.
Smooth transitions between statements..
Various fonts and font sizes to choose from.
Adjustable display speed.
Full-screen and dashboard-widget formats.
This approach keeps the experience focused and avoids displaying too much content simultaneously.
Option 2: Vision Widget on dashboard
Introduce a dashboard widget that displays a rotating vision statement and image.
The widget could:
Show one life area at a time.
Change automatically at defined intervals.
Be paused or browsed manually.
Option 3: Vision Cards
Transform individual vision statements into swipeable visual cards. Each card would combine a short text statement with an image, illustration, or color theme(MVP: exportable pictures to feed into other screensaver / homescreen apps)
Option 4: Digital Vision Board
Offer a collage-style vision board where users can combine images, statements, quotes, and visual elements on a shared canvas.
Possible features:
per life area and/or across life areas
View can be toggled on/off (switch between current view and vision board) Free placement of images and text.
Different image sizes and layouts.
Predefined templates for easier creation.
Themes based on specific life areas.
Background colors, textures, or images.
Optional stickers, shapes, or handwritten-style elements.
Option 5: Personalized Screensaver or Export
Allow users to export their vision as a visual format for use outside Griply.
Potential outputs include:
Smartphone wallpaper.
Desktop wallpaper.
Printable vision board.
PDF.
Short animated video.
Shareable image sequence.
The exported version could cycle through one statement and one image at a time, similar to the animated showcase.Option 7: Personalized Screensaver or Export
