Habit Percentages Don't Make Sense

On the Habits page, a habit that I want to complete 5 times a day shows as 20% completed if I’ve completed it once in the week. However, it’s Tuesday - I can only have completed it once so far this week. So it should show 50% (I completed it on Monday, today is Tuesday and I haven’t completed it yet).

I understand why it shows 20% - there are 5 instances and I’ve done one. But it’s not a good way to reflect the success of the habit.

This issue is accentuated on the Progress page (see the “Only one coffee” screenshot. I want to do this every day, but because I’ve done it on only 1 out of two days, it says “3.1%”, when it should say “50%”. The 3.1 is 1 / 32 - but I would say that this doesn’t accurately reflect my success.

Maybe you could add a setting so that the percentage is calculated out of the “available days”, rather than “days this month/week” etc?

I think you could have options for showing the success rate:

  • By period (this week, month)

  • Rolling completion rate (over the past 7, 14 days etc - allow the user to select the metric)

  • Total completion rate (how long has the habit been active and how is the user doing?)

I love Griply and would love if you could fix this :)

Thanks!
